Andrew Bettles


Andrew Bettles is a photographer driven by experimentation and aesthetic excellence. He is best known for his innovative approach to still life photography. Embedded within his practice is a deep knowledge of photography’s experimental and alchemic history. Bettles rethinks and reanimates the enduring capacities of the medium to transform his still life subjects into iconic imagery constituted from light and formal structure. Born in London, he studied photography at Bournemouth and Poole College of Art and Design before returning to London and working as a fashion photographer for magazines including The Face. Bettles’ brings his photographic originality to his editorial commissions for magazines including Another Man, Arena Homme +, Details, GQ, Harper’s Bazaar, The New York Times Magazine, Nowness, W Magazine, Wallpaper, and Wired. His clients include Apple, Bergdorf Goodman, Bulgari Watches and Fragrances, Gucci, Nike, Puma, Saks Fifth Avenue, Swarovski, and David Yurman.
