Bryan Liston

Bryan Liston has made intimate, collaborative portraits of his close circle of friends since he was a teenager living in Dallas, TX. Using his father’s camera equipment, he learnt the art of photographing his experiences and experiments with his collaborators in and around the towns and countryside in which he grew up and went to college. Over six years, Bryan Liston photographed staged and spontaneous encounters daily. With a tendency to photograph and print in subtle, subjective black-and-white, he has built a uniquely personal body of work. Using social media platforms to disseminate his vision, there has been a groundswell of interest and support for his authentic photographic practice. Bryan Liston now lives in New York and has been commissioned by magazines including More or Less, Rika, Self Service, and Vogue Italia. Liston has also created campaigns and special projects for Helmut Lang, Jil Sander, and Saint Laurent.
