Danish photographer and director, Casper Sejersen, works in fashion, film, fine art, and commercial spaces. His work often portrays the complexity of human frailty and weaves a narrative around the psychology of sensuality.
Sejersen has contributed to numerous editorials over the past decade for international publications including AnOther, Dazed and Confused, Beauty Papers, Vogue, Dust, D Repubblica, Purple, and Acne Papers as well as worked with fashion brands Helmut Lang, Acne, Dries Van Noten, Burberry, Gucci Beauty, Missoni, Kenzo, Fendi, Louis Vuitton and Dior. His approach to editorial and commercial work foregrounds a particular type of psychologically charged ‘muse’, working with talent including Harry Styles, Kate Moss, Tilda Swinton, Billie Eilish, Charlotte Gainsbourg, William Dafoe, Kirsten Dunst and Cate Blanchett.
Sejersen’s first solo exhibition in London, One, Two, Three, Four was at Cob Gallery in Spring 2019 as well as his work exhibited at Photo London 2019. His ‘orgasm portraits’ of Lars Von Trier’s Nymphomaniac (2013) cast were published in the book Belongs to Joe in 2015 – a collection of photographic essays in collaboration with art historian Cecilie Høgsbro. He also self-published a collection of work Virgo, released in 2022.
