Matthew Donaldson

For over twenty years, Matthew Donaldson has created beautiful and contemporary imagery, across the genres of fashion, still life, landscape and architectural photography. He is currently best know for his immaculately observed and staged editorial stories with magazines including AnOther Magazine, Esquire, Mr Porter, Nowness, Telegraph Magazine, Vogue Russia, W, and Wallpaper and advertising for luxury brands Armani, David Morris, Google, Kvadrat, Loewe, Nike, Smythson, and Swarovski. Donaldson began his career assisting the iconic British photographer Snowdon [Anthony Armstrong Jones] and as an artisan photographic printer in London. His still life photography brought his first critical acclaim in the 1990s, including his collaboration with the Michael Nash design agency to create the award-winning Harvey Nichols Fifth Floor packaging. Donaldson began to extend beyond still life photography and into fashion while working extensively with Vogue Paris, and architecture during his long-term relationship with Condé Nast Traveller. He has been a key figure in the burgeoning of fashion film in recent years, as-well-as a seasoned director of TV advertising.
