Austrian-born photographer Sebastian Lager developed an unconventional approach to still-life photography, relying on nature and his surroundings. Lager’s pictures emphasize the freedom and absurdity of the medium, alternating between fake snapshots and precisely staged compositions. His use of set and propping reinforces this balance, resulting in unlikely and comical formations.
Lager studied photography in Vienna and graduated in 2013. His clients include Adidas, Burberry, Carven, Loewe, M le Magazine du Monde, Palm Angels, Paul Smith, Saint Laurent, The Gentlewoman, W Magazine, WSJ. Magazine, and Zeit Magazine.
